Preschool & Kindergarten Curriculum

Taking a careful measure of their world. |
At Randolph, children learn by doing. Whether they
are building a block fort, making block prints or measuring flour
for a cake, they are exploring their world and learning to direct
their own paths to life-long learning. Teachers are there to guide
the learning process, not to present themselves as the only source
of information. Cooperation and communication between the students
is a significant component of their curriculum.

Throughout the day, children are encouraged to explore and investigate
their world. A wonderful selection of educational materials are
available to the children to assist them in their learning adventures.
The teachers act as facilitators, assisting their students in
their adventures and inquiries.
Each year, a theme is chosen to set a direction for
learning. The theme is always broad enough to encompass many disciplines
as well as interests. Previous themes have included animals, the
Hudson River Valley, and trains, travel, and transportation.
