Randolph School Community

Our end of year Stepping Stones Ceremony is a celebration for every student. Each student receives a certificate and stone symbolizing their continuation on their educational path.

The Whole School BBQ is a fun gathering where all students prepare, serve and eat together. This works to foster a stronger community between all of the students and teachers.

Whole School BBQ

One of the cornerstones of the Randolph School's mission is to provide our students and their families with a lasting community. They partner with the teachers to create a warm, loving environment for all to share. There are several feasts and events through the year that strengthen our sense of community. Our parents cook side by side with the students and teachers when we prepare the annual feasts.

The student's parents join together to form our Parent Group. Its mission is threefold. First they provide a support group for all of the parents by having speakers and lectures on a wide variety of relevant topics. Second, they sponsor social events for families to come together and create stronger bonds outside of the regular school day. Thirdly, the Parent Group holds events that help to raise funds for various programs through the school. In 2004-05 they held an auction that raised the funds to send a teacher to Italy to study at Regio Emilia. She brought back skills that will be implemented and integrated within the fabric of Randolph School. They also raised money for a weather station for the Upstairs program and new science equipment for the Upper School. Parents are also welcome to come to school and share a recipe, story or skill.

Our alumni are our proud legacy. They remain a constant source of inspiration for the teachers and their many visits entice our current students with their tales of life after Randolph. Many have remained in contact with former classmates and others have returned to work at Randolph School. They have gone to Ivy League schools, won Pulitzer Prizes for Journalism and have experiments that have been launched on the Space Shuttle. They send their children to Randolph School and return to teach their passions to our current students. Their smiles and stories are a strong testament to the lasting strength of their experiences at Randolph School.

Petra and Leora enjoy Pancake Lunch made with our own home-made maple syrup.

The Randolph School is a teacher's cooperative. The teachers have the responsibility of caring for the students, maintaining the building and grounds and creating the curriculum. The faculty is composed of a team of committed individuals who have come together to provide their students the benefits of their experiences and interests. Working together, the teachers create an environment that allows the students to explore their hopes and dreams while also providing them with the life skills necessary to face the 21st century.

The members of our Board of Trustees are charged with advising and supervising the administrative committee, the teachers and staff. They are a valuable resource that are used to provide insight and advice for the maintenance and strengthening of The Randolph School. Their skills and experiences assist and guide the teachers and the administrators as they work together to build a better school for the future.
